Make It!

Ever consider making your own laundry detergent?
Me neither.

Sounds like we could save some pennies if we reconsider.
Quite a few pennies.
Using Tide you spend approximately $0.35 a load - with home made detergent it is more like $0.03 a load.  At a savings of over a quarter a load of laundry - that adds up.  And as you coupon cutting families know - every penny counts.
It doesn't even look too tough to do - all the ingredients can be purchased at your local supermarket.

I am going to try it and then I'll give you my opinion* on the stuff.

Check this link at The Simple Dollar for a pretty detailed tutorial.

*I tell it like it is.  Call me honest, call me bold, call me blunt or call me rude - I don't like sugarcoating.

Kelly,

I used this exact recipe and it was two things:

TOTALLY easy!
EXTREMELY fun!

oh, and cheap!!! It turned a little Jello-y and it smells really good (like the bar of soap I used). I haven't had a chance to use it yet but I can't wait until laundry day!
