Sounds like we could save some pennies if we reconsider.
Quite a few pennies.
Using Tide you spend approximately $0.35 a load - with home made detergent it is more like $0.03 a load. At a savings of over a quarter a load of laundry - that adds up. And as you coupon cutting families know - every penny counts.
It doesn't even look too tough to do - all the ingredients can be purchased at your local supermarket.
I am going to try it and then I'll give you my opinion* on the stuff.

I used this exact recipe and it was two things:
TOTALLY easy!
EXTREMELY fun!
oh, and cheap!!! It turned a little Jello-y and it smells really good (like the bar of soap I used). I haven't had a chance to use it yet but I can't wait until laundry day!
