The Wyoming House of Representative shot down the House Bill 85, or what is being referred to as The Doomsday Bill. The proposed legislation would have created task force to prepare the state for a breakdown of the government at a federal level. It addressed the need for prepping for potential disruptions in food and energy sources. The task force would also look into creating a Wyoming currency in the event the dollar loses it's value. Originally the bill included the formation of a state military and military draft, but that language was removed before it went to the House.
The bill lost 30-27.
The bill's sponsor, Rep. David Miller, says that legislature may not have time to meet and respond to a crisis. He points out how quickly things happened in Egypt and Libya.
Good point.
