Wasted Food?

A meal planner is a good idea.  Many of us throw money away in the form of wasted food.  If you do your  grocery shopping with a weekly menu in mind you are more likely to buy what you use and use what you buy.  Here at OrganizedHome.com you can print a free menu planner.  I'd also love to suggest couponing, but I can't give any advice from experience, because I'm horrible at it.  Try as I might I just end up buying things I wouldn't normally purchase.  Those "in the know" recommend CouponDivas.com.  They provide daily alerts on good deals, printable coupons and instructions on how to maximize your savings.  I have also heard good things about the Krazy Coupon Lady and The Frugal Shopper.

Another way to not feel as pinched is to buy your non perishables in bulk.  Costco, of course is a great place to do this.  I think we have all heard about the price of peanuts and peanut butter going through the roof.  Now would be a great time to start hoarding the Jiff - before the price more than doubles.  I know we go through it like crazy.  Is there anyone out there that prefers a brand other than Jiffy?  They keep selling Skippy - so I know there has to be a fan or two out there.

Another suggestion is Shelf Reliance foods.  Not only because I'm a Rep, hehe, but because you can save yourself some cold hard cash.   You have the option of buying your food items in bulk AND it isn't going to go bad and get tossed before using it.  So it's sort of win/win. Their products are dehydrated or freeze dried so they have a great shelf life.  I recommend allocating some of your grocery fund to a monthly Shelf Reliance budget (the Q).

So start a weekly meal planner today, take advantage of Costco deals and open up your own Q!

Costco's "deals" on storage food items like Shelf Reliance/Thrive are not as good as we can get through you as a Rep right? You are talking about other bulk foods? or dry good items like TP or soap and stuff, right?

Yes, on items that Shelf Reliance does not offer - Costco is a great resource! Shelf Reliance products at the deepest discounts come through me :)
