Do you make resolutions? Do you stick to them?
Every year I seem to make the same resolution. That should answer the question of whether or not I stick to mine. Not so much.
I always pledge to SIMPLIFY.
Honestly, I'm not even sure what I would define as success in my attempt to make things simple. I guess I want organization. I want to be a "a place for every thing and every thing in it's place" kind of gal. I'm envious of the people that know exactly where the one item they are looking for is located. I have about 5 places to check before I find it.
Birth certificate.....birth certificate.....hmmmm.
My plan this year is to get rid of things that I don't need - which is sadly, a LOT. What is the rule about clothing? If you haven't worn it in 6 months? With our ever changing seasons I think we can bump that up to a year. And with that generosity - I'm still a few years overdue. Don't judge. I WILL fit into those jeans again someday. It's not just my closet that needs an overhaul. The basement looks like a storage unit and a garage sale had a baby. It's bad. It's been bad and it's only gotten worse. I do have the boxes of holiday stuff separate from the boxes of just random stuff, but that is the extent of organization.
This year - THIS year - I'm going to to do it. I'm really going to gut everything and SIMPLIFY. Seriously, just you wait and see.

Kelly, this is so me. We must be related. I too have this goal. It feels so good to just get rid of stuff. I tend to hold on to things and think I will someday get around to it....bye bye. Once I get rid of all the junk in my life, I can actually spend time doing things more important- like getting pictures together, making children's books, finding birth certificates...you can do it Kelly. Awesome deal on the corn nah?
