Ohmy. These get an A. I may even add a few + + signs. Real good. I'm working my way through all of the THRIVE foods and we had yet to try any yogurt bites. I had read several reviews that recommended the pomegranate flavor. Yum. I bought a pantry size can and in just a few days it's gone. It wouldn't have even lasted that long, but I hid the can. Apparently not well enough. My son came walking out of the kitchen this evening, holding the container and chewing a mouthful.
It's a relatively healthy snack. Although yogurt sounds more healthy than it really is - normally quite a bit of sugar. A serving of this is 0% of the recommended daily intake of sugar. Which makes absolutely zero sense to me - since it shows 7g of sugar per serving. Of course a "serving" is only a 1/4 of a cup and lets be honest - that's just a joke. No one eats a 1/4 of a cup of anything. So 7g multiplied by....hmmmm....say..... 10 servings has got to bump that percentage up a little.
We never even hydrated our bites. Straight from the can into the mouth. They melt in your mouth in the most fascinating way. They start on dry and hard and dissolve into....yogurt! Weird and somewhat exciting.
I read that people like to add them to a smoothie or sprinkle on top of cereal or ice cream. My favorite idea is adding them to a granola or trail mix. I plan on taking them this summer as a camping snack. And I'm sure they will be finding themselves in many of my son's lunches this year as well.
The price of the yogurt bites seems a little high to me when compared to other products, but it is in the dairy category and all the dairy items are on the high side of the THRIVE scale too. It's because the freeze drying process is a little more extensive for cheese type stuff, but don't quote me on that because I just made it up.
A pantry size can is bigger than a Progresso soup can, but not quite as big as the large Jiffy peanut butter container. And that is the accurate, technical size. The pantry can, under my direct to factory price, is $14.39. Part of that value is that the yogurt bites shelf life (unopened) is 25 years. That's great, but I can guarantee if you try them they will not remain unopened. If you do have the willpower to keep them as emergency food only - your emergency has a pretty yummy, bright spot.

I can attest to the goodness of these yogurt treats! Had Kelly not yanked them away from me I would have eaten a significant portion of the can. YUMMY!
