Ready?

So you think the only ones buying into this food storage frenzy are Glenn Beck fans or crazy militia men survivalist types, huh?  You would be El Wrong-O.  The feds suggest you stock up too.  Check out

Sure there are all the doomsday conspiracy theorists out there.  People predicting a ginormous economic collapse that would send America into a depression much greater than the Great.  Or those that believe the Occupy this and that protests are going to swell and create mass chaos and eventual anarchy.  Or even ol' Harold Camping and his ever changing guesses about the Christian rapture.  You don't have to subscribe to any of these to believe that preparedness is a sound idea.  There is no denying Katrina.  Or the Texas wildfires and drought.  Or the deadly tornadoes across all of middle America.  Or the New England floods.  Florida hurricanes.  California earthquakes.....

Of course there are other things to worry about; terrorist attacks, an EMP event, inflation, soaring commodity costs...

All (well, aside from Harold Camping's delusions) are real possibilities.  Tomorrow lets start discussing the food shortage supply worries.  How real is the risk?
