Thrive Food Review

This morning I made blueberry pancakes using the Thrive 6 grain pancake mix and Thrive freeze dried blueberries.  I must first tell you that I am not known for making good pancakes.  My husband reminded me while I was cooking that my pancakes usually come out like bricks or "little hockey puck bricks*" to be precise.  Thank you honey.  For those that don't know him he is nothing if not brutally honest.
Well, guess what?
My pancakes were......drum roll please......
FLUFFY!
I'm not kidding - they were GOOD!
Of course there is no making a pancake healthy (I mean come on, the word CAKE is in it's name), but these are slightly more healthy being "6 Grain" and all.
The blueberries were surprisingly fresh tasting.
We ate some right out of the can before "hydrating" them.
They tasted like a blueberry, but in "Cocoa Puff*" texture and form.
Once they were soaked in warm water for a minute they had the normal blueberry look and feel.
So the verdict is in.  They are better for us (remember, better being a relative term when we are talking about something that will soon be drowned in syrup), they taste better (I am actually sort of shocked by that, but it's the truth) and the shelf life is 10 years!    Check your pantry - bet your pancake mix can't say the same.

And I'm doubly sold on the blueberries.  Who keeps fresh blueberries on hand?  In November?  And these were, hands down, better than the frozen variety.   They didn't turn into complete mush and no fear of freezer burn.  The shelf life for the blueberries?
25 years.  No joke.
(Optimum one year after being opened)

*Travism.  AKA Husband speak.
Oh you just wait, that's nothing - seriously, he is like this odd combination of Dr. Phil and Ricky Bobby.
(I just read him that description and without taking his eyes off the NFL game he shook his head,

No. That's not accurate.  Well, Ricky Bobby?  I guess I do like to drive fast.  And Dr. Phil?  Is that because yesterday I used the phrase "ya can't polish a turd.?"

Exactly.
